Many educated online viewers are certain that the clip shows a fire-breathing dragon - the mythological creature found in fantasy novels and kids cartoons.

However, other curious users are adamant the beast is a flying dinosaur such as a pterosaur - a flying reptile which has been extinct for at least 66 million years.

Dragons are a huge part of Chinese mythology and symbolise strength, power and good luck.

In fact, the discovery of dinosaur bones led to ancient historians in China to incorrectly labelling them as dragon remains – thus fuelling the myth.

The obvious use of computer graphics to create this particular video, which was uploaded to YouTube by popular account ApexTV, hasn’t stopped dragon fanatics giving their opinion on the ‘sighting.’

After careful consideration, one user commented: “That's crazy, I think it’s a dragon.”

The clip has also sparked heated debate on the video sharing platform.

One worldly online dweller named Chao's GotSkillz declared: “Dragon is real. nothing is impossible on earth. tsunamis, black holes, etc. science can explain. but sometimes there are thing that science cant explain. its up to us if we believe it or not.”

But a sceptical user replied to his comment, saying: “Sorry, I stopped believing in fairy-tales (and the characters therein) when i was a child.”

However, Chao's GotSkillz was quick to correct him explaining that in his opinion ‘dragon is a species.’

He said: “Yea! same here. never believe in fairy tales. but i believe in dragon. dragon is not a fairy tale tho. its a species.”
