Brit conspiracy theorist Max Spiers ‘killed by a cult who tried to deprogramme him’, says devastated mum

A CHILDHOOD pal of Orlando Bloom was sacrificed by satanists as he investigated UFO conspiracy theories, his family said last night.
Max Spiers, 39, fell in with a cult who pumped him full of drugs before he died on a sofa in Warsaw, Poland, in July, his mother believes.
Conspiracy theorist Max, from Canterbury, was found dead on a sofa in the Polish capital just days after texting his mother to say: "If anything happens to me, investigate".
He was found at a friend’s house and a witness said: "There was dark liquid coming from his mouth".
Max was presumed by the authorities to have died from natural causes with suggestions he had a peptic ulcer.
Max was buried in Canterbury cemetery after his mother arranged to have his body flown home a week after his death.
A postmortem examination was carried out by a pathologist in Kent, but two months later his family still does not know the result, or whether there will be an inquest.
Some friends and followers now believe his investigations into UFOs and government cover-ups may have made him enemies who wanted him dead.
Mum Vanessa Bates, 63, told The Sun of her desperate quest for answers.
The English teacher insisted she was a “sane, normal person” who did not endorse her son’s conspiracy theories.
But she is convinced there is evidence of foul play in the death of dad-of-two Max - who went to £10,000-a-year St Edmund's boarding school with the Lord of the Rings star.
Max's girlfriend claims he told her days before his death that he had been taken prisoner by people who wanted to do "satanic rituals to 'de-programme' him."
Ex Sarah Adams told The Sun: "He said they had given him something that had put him in a coma for two days."
And Vanessa claims when she spoke to one member of the group over the phone hours after his death, she overheard them setting up a satanic ritual.
At her terraced home in Canterbury, devastated Vanessa said: "The police and the doctor all went off and left my son dead lying there with these people.
"I was on the phone to one of them and I could hear in the background there were strange suggestions of things that should be done.
"Things like 'put milk by his side' and 'get garlic and put flowers and put vinegar' and very weird goings on.
"I could hear it being said. It sounded like rituals going on. Some sort of satanic rituals.
"Then I found out that his body hadn't left the house until the following morning."
She told how her lawyers had obtained logs detailing the movements of police and the doctor in the hours after Max's death, which showed they left the body unattended overnight.
One of UFO expert Max's group sent Vanessa a photo taken within hours of his death of his body with a red mark on his forehead.
The same woman sent her snaps of him in a coffin wearing a silk suit and later posted her a satanic book along with his mobile phone SIM card within days of the tragedy.
The bizarre tome - titled Sacrifice: Magic Behind the Mic - accuses rappers including Kanye West of involvement with the occult.
However, Vanessa has interpreted it as a threatening gesture designed to intimidate her as she battles for an inquest into her son's death.
Max's French American girlfriend Sarah Adams claims Max was being held against his will in the days before his mysterious death.
Sarah, 31, told The Sun: "He was terrified, he wanted to leave.
"He wanted to come back to England because we were going to get married and have a baby. He was the love of my life.
"He rang me secretly because they wouldn't let him talk to me and he said he was trying to get away from them.
"They were doing very dark black magic and satanic rituals to 'de-programme' him and get rid of demons.
"He said they had given him something that had put him in a coma for two days.
"It wasn't easy to just walk out because the house is in a remote forest with an electric fence around it.
"He said something demonic is going on, he said he needed to get out and find a church or a holy place, but two days later he was dead.
"They were doing some kind of black magic on him."
After months of confusion over whether a postmortem examination had taken place, the coroner's office on Monday told The Sun it had been inconclusive.
The pathologist has sent off samples for further testing and the decision about whether to launch a full inquest will have to wait until the results come back.
Vanessa said: "I don't like the idea of people messing with him after his death and I hope he was dead because in the picture of him with the mark on his head you cannot tell.
"The way he's been treated is absolutely ghastly.
"I feel appalled and let down by the Polish police.
"I feel let down by the doctor and the people who did the last interview with him where he sounds like he's dying."
Video footage uploaded to YouTube shows Max's last interview with fellow conspiracy theorists in which Vanessa says he appears "drugged".
A spokesman for North East Kent coroner's office said: "The Coroner has opened an investigation into the death of Max Spiers, which may or may not result in the need for an inquest.
"A postmortem was ordered and has been undertaken. However, the results were inconclusive and further tests are being carried out.
"When these results have been received, the Coroner will decide whether to continue the investigation and, as part of that investigation, to hold an inquest."
