Tesco forced to apologise after delivering marmalade with label altered to read ‘Jimmy Saville’ to a customer
A TESCO shopper was left sickened after buying a jar of Seville marmalade which had been altered to read "Jimmy Saville" in black pen.
Bar owner Kate Shepherd was horrified when the jar was delivered to her house with the prolific child abuser's name scrawled across it.
Kate had her shopping delivered from a Tesco Extra store in hometown County Durham and said after a while she took the joke "with a pinch of salt".
She tweeted: "So I had my @tesco shopping delivered and someone has written on my marmalade... @tesco staff must have a lot of time on their hands."
A Tesco spokesperson has apologised to Kate and said: "This is clearly unacceptable and we are investigating how this could have happened.
