Nigel Farage takes a break from the chaos engulfing Ukip to catch a 9lb cod while fishing in the Channel
Comes as frontrunner to replace him Steven Woolfe dramatically quits party saying it is ‘ungovernable’
NIGEL Farage treated himself to a break from the chaos engulfing Ukip to catch a 9lb cod while fishing in the Channel.
The interim leader saw the man expected to be his successor dramatically quit after a fracas which left him in hospital having suffered two seizures.
Steven Woolfe left Ukip, saying it is “ungovernable” without Mr Farage at the helm, and stood by his claim that he had "received a blow" from fellow MEP Mike Hookem during the tussle at a private meeting at the European Parliament building in Strasbourg.
He also revealed he had made a police complaint about the incident, but Mr Hookem has denied hitting the 49-year-old, with others in the party saying he had already received warnings about "inappropriate behaviour" from senior party figures.
Mr Farage has found himself back in charge of the party despite stepping down as leader after the EU referendum following the shock resignation of Diane James after just 18 days at the helm.
But he got away from the drama this week after spending he day with friends fishing off the Kent coast, and catching a whopping cod.
Ukip announced last night that a new leader will be n place by the end of November, meaning Mr Farage can go back to being retired.
