LIZ Truss is not so much running a Government as a political shark tank.
So many rival factions are circling that her chances of creating the stability she needs to govern are vanishingly small.
The new PM had no time to recover from her disastrously presented economic plans before being pitched into the pantomime of the party conference season.
Then the display of open warfare in Birmingham, even among her Cabinet colleagues, left her seriously wounded.
Mutinous Tory rebels are even plotting with Labour to kill off potential welfare cuts.
And leadership wannabes who scent blood in the water are poised to strike at the first chance.

As one Cabinet Minister said, Ms Truss might find herself as paralysed as Theresa May, unable to push through vital reforms for two years.
But the country cannot afford to keep staggering from one political crisis to another.
There are too many massive issues facing us, from the escalating cost of living to the threat of power blackouts.
So as MPs finally get back to Parliament this week, we can only pray that some form of sanity will return.

Now, as Ukrainian forces vanquish his troops, both the bridge and Putin’s power appear to have gone up in flames.
