DEAD CREEPY

Hauntingly beautiful images show abandoned funeral home – complete with coffins, a hearse and even CREMATED BODIES

Coffins, tools of the trade and even a Cadillac hearse were abandoned

These stunning images capture the haunting beauty of a funeral home that has been undisturbed for three years - complete with chemicals, coffins, an abandoned hearse and even the cremated remains of former clients.

The building, in Jacksonville, Florida, has been at the site since 1856 but was left to rot when the business moved to a site with modern facilities.

Over the decades the ornate furnishings and tools of the trade have been left to moulder - but incredibly the electricity is still on and the lights still work.

Even the records of funerals long past remain at the site, many in excellent condition.

The pictures were taken by an anonymous photographer from Birmingham, Alabama, whose 'obsession' with abandoned places led him to create the blog .

In 1856, Calvin Oak and his son, Byron, opened a marble and mortuary business. After his father passed away, Byron continued growing the business as the Moulton & Kyle Funeral Home.

In the early 1990s, the funeral home was sold to the Peeples Family Funeral Home. After almost a century of operating at the West Union Street building, the business was moved in 2013 to a new location with updated facilities. The building at West Union Street was abandoned and left to decay.
