Woman, 25, killed in police car crash called ‘shining star’ by heartbroken pals as two cops charged over her death
A WOMAN killed in a police car crash has been remembered as a “shining star” by her heartbroken pal.
Two officers have been charged after Shante Daniel-Folkes, 25, of West Norwood, was hit by a cop car at 11:20pm on June 9, last year in
She had been walking on Stockwell Road in Brixton when she was struck by the car driven by PC Nadeem Patel, 27 - who has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving.
Meanwhile PC Gary Thomson, 30, who was driving a separate car has been charged with dangerous driving.
The pair had been responding to an nearby emergency incident when the heartbreaking incident occured.
Today Shante was remembered by a friend as "sweet, sophisticated, sassy, street-smart, special, stunning, straightforward yet complex, strong willed and a selfless".

Her pal wrote: "You were so well liked, full of life, love and character and had your whole life ahead of you, you really were a shining star."
At the time of the crash, a witness told MyLondon: "I heard a loud bang and looked through the windows of my flat and I saw a girl on the floor and they started giving her CPR.
“They were trying to do CPR on her for over a half an hour, and then they covered her body."
Meanwhile another witness told the : "It was terrifying to witness. I couldn't sleep much, so I went over to the balcony during the night.

“Forensic teams arrived and covered the scene with a small tent, and by 5am they cleared up everything. I'm still shocked and sad. Prayers to her family and friends."
Local residents left pink lilies at the scene following the fatal crash.
Both cops are due to attend Westminster Magistrates' Court on Monday, October 17.
The Independent Office of Police Conduct said: "The charges relate to an incident on June 9 last year in which Shante Daniel-Folkes, 25, was hit by a police vehicle driven by PC Patel on Stockwell Road in
"PC Thomson was in a separate police vehicle. Both officers were responding to an emergency incident at the time.
"Ms Daniel-Folkes sadly died at the scene of the collision and our sympathies remain with her family and loved ones.

"Our investigation concluded in May 2022, when we provided a file of evidence to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) which authorised the charges."
The Metropolitan Police said the officers are both currently on restricted duties.
