Two boys, 14, attacked by knife-wielding thugs outside school after class finished for the day
TWO teenagers have been attacked by knife-wielding thugs outside a school.
The youngsters, both 14, were waiting for a bus near St Ambrose Barlowe RC High School in Swinton, Greater Manchester, when they were targeted.
One boy was stabbed in the hand while the attackers attempted to knife the other in the leg before fleeing the scene at about 3.30pm on Tuesday.
Neither the victims nor suspects are pupils at the school.
Two people, aged 15 and 17, have been arrested and remain in custody.
Police officers will patrolling close to the school when pupils arrive and go home "to provide reassurance", reports.

In a statement to local councillors, Greater Manchester Police said: "Whilst this is a concerning incident, due to the quick and effective investigation response by Swinton CID, both suspects were arrested and remain in custody.
"Today and over the coming days officers from the Salford North East Neighbourhood Team will be in the area on high visibility foot patrol and will be present at entry and exit times of the high school to provide some reassurance to the community, parents, and pupils at the school."
A Greater Manchester Police spokesman added: "We were called at around 3.35pm yesterday to a report of a suspected stabbing on Manchester Road, Worsley.
"Officers attended and established two 14-year-old boys were targeted – one was injured.

"Two teenage boys – aged 17 and 15 – are currently in custody on suspicion of assault.
"Enquiries are ongoing and any information can be passed to us via LiveChat on our website or by calling 101 quoting incident 2066 of 11/10/2022.
"Details can be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
It comes after a teenager this week appeared in court charged with murdering a 14-year-old boy who was stabbed to death near a nature reserve.
Tomasz Oleszak was rushed to hospital after the horror unfolded in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, last Monday.
Sadly he couldn't be saved and was declared dead in the early hours of yesterday morning.
A 14-year-old boy appeared at Newcastle Crown Court on Monday charged with murder.
He is also accused of attempted wounding with intent and having a bladed article in a public place.
The boy, who can't legally be named, did not enter a plea but a provisional trial date was set for March 21.
Meanwhile last month, Khayri McLean, 15, was pinned down and stabbed to death outside a school as parents collected their kids.
Two boys, 15 and 16, were charged with murdering him in Huddersfield, Yorkshire.

Khayri's girlfriend Shyana James, 16, said her heart shattered when she heard he had died.
She called him a "really nice boy", adding: “I can’t think of any reason why someone would do this to him.”
