Boy, 12, ‘struck by car’ in Paisley ‘murder bid’ as man is charged
A MAN has been charged over an alleged attempted murder bid after a boy was reported to have been struck by a car.
Emergency crews raced to Ben Alder Drive in Paisley at around 2pm yesterday after reports of a crash involving a motor and a 12-year-old.
The boy was rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow with serious injuries.
A 68-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with alleged the incident.
He is due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Friday, October 14.
A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police received a report of a crash on Ben Alder Drive in Paisley involving a car and a 12-year-old pedestrian around 2pm on Wednesday, 12 October, 2022.
“The 12-year-old boy was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment for serious injuries.
“A 68-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with this incident and he is due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Friday, 14 October.
"A report will be forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal.”

Elsewhere, a man has been arrested after an alleged police chase in Edinburgh that caused a stolen vehicle to crash into a cop car.
Officers were allegedly in pursuit of a stolen motor this morning, Thursday October 13, on London Road in Edinburgh.
The vehicle allegedly made off after it is claimed it failed to stop when signalled by cops to do so at around 9.50am.
Officers began to pursue the motor as they responded to the incident, sparking a police chase.
