Perv who lured a ’14-year-old girl’ for sex at Saracens Amateur RFC snared by female paedophile vigilantes

The 33-year-old, who claimed to be 23 in the video, had told the girl to pretend she was just his little sister's friend

A PAEDOPHILE rugby player who arranged to meet a 14-year-old girl for a weekend of sex was caught out by vigilante paedo hunters.

Richard Ganyata thought he had been talking to the teen and had even apparently told her he loved her, but was infact chatting online with Internet Interceptors.

They were the ones to meet him at Saracens Amateur RFC in Southgate, north London - where the pair had arranged to meet - and confronted the 33-year-old.

He claimed to be 22 when speaking with the vigilantes.

The construction worker had told the "girl" to pretend she was his little sister's friend, and planned to have sex with her on the sofa at the rugby club - where he said he was living.

Zimbabwean born Ganyata, who came to the UK three years ago, did not deny he has three Facebook accounts and more than 500 online friends, the majority of whom are young girls and women.

Ganyata, who was dressed in a red football top covered in black stains, was lost for words when he was confronted by the vigilantes.

He was silent as the woman said he told the girl he was going to touch her intimately and massage her with lotions.

She said: "You're here to meet a 14-year-girl aren't you, Richard?

"No one is going to hurt you, okay. You were here to meet a 14-year-old girl."

He replied: "I wasn't really sure about it."

The woman said: "You weren't sure about it? You wanted to have sex with her didn't you."

He said: "When she was telling me, I wasn't really too sure."

The anonymous vigilante added: "You had prepared food for her today and for her to pretend that she was your 14-year-old friend.

"And that she was going to stay at the rugby club with you, lay on the sofa with you and have sex with you until Monday when she had to go home to her mum.

"That's actually what you said."

Ganyata then said: "I've done something that I was not supposed to do.

"It was one of those internet dating sites, just a random dating site.

"I wasn't thinking straight. I realised the other day that I should not be speaking to her."

The woman replied with: "You told her yesterday that you wanted to have sex with her."

Later he blamed a series of mental health issues for his behaviour and claims he was homeless.

At Wood Green Crown Court on Monday morning, Ganyata was jailed for 18 months and will spend ten years on the sex offenders' register after being convicted of attempting to meet a girl under 16 following grooming.

A Saracens Amateur RFC spokesman said: "We are aware that a member of Saracens Amateur Rugby Club has been convicted.

"The child involved in the case was not connected in any way to Saracens ARC. As a club the safety of all our members is paramount.

"We co-operated fully with the authorities throughout proceedings and appropriate safeguarding measures were in place.

"The individual's membership has now been revoked and they are barred from the premises. We will be making no further comment on the matter."
