Asgardia comes under ‘alien attack’ in first challenge to ‘space nation’
'Let the day be known as The Day of Asgardian Unity and Strength'
The world’s first space nation Asgardia claims it was attacked by ‘aliens’.
The space state which launched earlier this month, posted on Facebook that they had suffered a DDoS attack from an unknown source.
Asgardia, which currently has nearly half a million people registered as ‘nationals’, was able to quell the and declared victory on its social media page.
The country was announced earlier this month after Dr Igor Ashurbeyli and his team revealed they would try to launch a space station which would become its own independent state.
They plan to offer people the chance to become guardians of earth by becoming the first line of defence in space and proposed a plan to help protect Earth against threats from space.
The final plan is to send people into space where they will live on a spacecraft, with their own government and flag.
According to their website, Asgardia is currently the 139th most populated country in our Solar System.
With more Asgardians than people from Iceland or Malta, the scientists behind the space nation have announced they will soon release a statement about how the nation’s government will run.
The country is currently made up mostly of Chinese nationals with over 100,00 people from China applying for dual-nationality with the space nation.
Coming in second on the list is the US with 49,677 people applying for membership, followed by Turkey, Brazil and the UK.
Despite its overwhelming amount of Chinese nationals the official Facebook group for Asgardia held a poll in which people voted for having English as the country’s official language.
As well as holding a poll on whether they plan on banning the sale of drugs, alcohol and tobacco, with the majority of people voting in favour of keeping everything legalised.
The Sun reached out to Asgardia for comment on how it was able to quash its alien attack, but is yet to hear from its representatives.
