On Wednesday, Georgalla appeared at the Old Bailey by video-link from Belmarsh prison for a plea hearing.

He pleaded not guilty to murdering Ms John, but admitted acting in breach of a restraining order on that date.

According to the charge, he had contact with Ms John "without reasonable excuse" in breach of the order imposed on May 22.

Judge Angela Rafferty KC confirmed he would stand trial on July 3 next year.

The case is expected to go on for up to three weeks.

The defendant, of Weald Lane, Harrow, north-west London, was further remanded into custody.
