Clowns warned to hire bodyguards as ‘killer clown’ craze returns for Halloween
CLOWNS are being told to hire bodyguards as the "killer clown" craze is expected to continue throughout Halloween.
Professional clowns have been told by the World Clown Association that to stay safe and avoid negative confrontations with people mistaking them for "killer clowns", they should employ a plain clothed bodyguard.
Some clowns, who make a living from clowning around, are so scared they are turning down work until after Halloween, when they hope the craze will die down.
The clowns union has condemned the craze, fearing it will harm their trade.
Clowns in America are telling cops ahead of travelling what route they will be taking, so they avoid being arrested for being dressed up.
Some states have banned the make up and outfit of clowns, as sightings increased and terror grew.
People dressing as the "killer clowns" have become bolder and even started carrying weapons as they deliberately scare others.
The World Clown Association said: "If travelling to an event, you may want to have a plain clothes bodyguard to help you avoid negative confrontations."
The craze started in America and has spread to the UK, with reports of clowns appearing in Australia and other countries.
People wear the scary outfits and masks to deliberately frighten others and have caused chaos and fear throughout Britain as they continue to terrorise.
Women in Yorkshire have even been given free courses in self defence to fend off the clowns, as the craze continues.

Drivers in Manchester were startled to see two clowns running at their cars, and a mum-of-two was left with terrified children after one jumped on her car.
The Sun revealed that the teenage son of an England football star was suspended from his private school for making “killer clown” threats to other kids.
The lad was ringleader in a sick social media stunt that caused eight schools to be evacuated. Police were called in.
Jobless 18-year-old, Connor Jones, was one of the first to be charged and punished as the unusual craze grips the UK.
He was fined £90 and received a public order offence on his criminal record.
