RUSSIA has suffered its deadliest day on the frontline after nearly 1,000 troops were killed in just 24 hours, Ukraine has claimed.

The war-torn nation is continuing to push back against Vladimir Putin's henchmen and has wiped out hundreds of his soldiers.

Kyiv alleges that 950 Russian soldiers were killed on Sunday, marking the highest death toll in a single day since the invasion began eight months ago.

It takes the total number of slaughtered Russian soldiers up to 71,200.

Ukraine also claimed to have successfully obliterated 52 armoured personnel vehicles, 13 tanks and one cruise missile on Sunday.

Serhiy Shaptala, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, gloated in a Facebook post: "It was a good 24 hours. The occupiers suffered their heaviest losses on the Donetsk and Lyman fronts."

And their triumphs seem to be on a roll - as the Ministry of Defence claimed to have successfully shot down 44 cruise missiles on Monday.

Putin is reportedly sending his "poorly trained" soldiers to their deaths, as he desperately attempts to hold onto land in the region.

Some of his mobilised men were seen fleeing as Ukrainian forces launched an attack on their armoured tank - before it embarrassingly flipped over.

The troops were tossed through the air as missiles rained down on them in the shocking footage that was reportedly shot in Kherson.

Their panic was evident as they frantically shouted expletives at each other as they rushed away, telling each other to move "faster".

The men argue among each other as they scramble on board and climb on top of the tank in the hopes of speeding to safety,

They were seen grinning as they haphazardly careered down the road at high speed - with some of their caps flying off due to their pace.

But their getaway went drastically wrong when the hefty armoured vehicle swerved into a ditch - leaving them screaming in terror.

Despite the driver's best attempts to regain control, the vehicle flips over and dramatically flings the soldiers onto the floor.

The clip then cuts out - but its circulation has provided a stark representation of Russia's ailing invasion.

Putin's tired troops seem to be teetering on the edge of a total military collapse amid a string of chaotic operations.

And it will only get worse - as soldiers could face killer conditions as they battle through the harsh reality of winter in the trenches.

There is speculation Putin may be purging his inner circle, as well as key military personnel, over his disastrous campaign in Ukraine.

Even recruits seem to have realised their doomed fates amid the war on Ukraine, as they are sent to the frontline with outdated weapons.

Last month, the Russian President announced the partial mobilisation of his country, calling up at least 300,000 men.

Putin then said he would happily sacrifice 20 million soldiers to ensure he could win in Ukraine and secure his future in the Kremlin.

And he is now resorting to desperate measures to try and keep a victory within his grasp.

Russia has continued its brutal bombing campaign across Ukraine this week, targeting Kyiv and other key cities, while cutting off power across the country.

Ukrainians were forced to take cover underground as missiles hit energy infrastructure - Putin's prime focus as the winter months hit.

This has become a key element of the tyrant's tactics in recent weeks, as he looks to destroy Ukraine's electricity supplies.

The Ukrainian government is now reportedly set to implement emergency power cuts in a bid to maintain their provisions.

Putin's strikes have left more than 1.5million Ukrainians in darkness.
