‘Fantastic gentleman’, 60, stabbed to death while working at FedEx depot, as cops charge man, 48, with murder

A FEDEX worker described by pals as a "fantastic gentleman" was stabbed to death while working at a depot.

Philip David Woodcock, 60, was attacked at the distribution warehouse in Rotherham, South Yorkshire.

A second man is believed to have suffered minor injuries during the incident on Wednesday shortly after 9am.

Mr Woodcock, who suffered multiple stab wounds, died at the scene.

Cops last night charged Ronald Sekanjako with murder, actual bodily harm, criminal damage and possession of an offensive weapon.

The 48-year-old, of Sheffield, was remanded in custody to appear at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court on Friday.

Friends and colleagues of Mr Woodcock have paid tribute him online.

One pal wrote: "Such a tragic day at work yesterday, the absolute tragic loss of a fantastic man who literally had time for everyone.

“The place just won’t be the same ever again. My thoughts are with Phil’s family at this time.

"No one should leave home for work in a morning and not return, it’s just heartbreaking.”

One devastated friend said he was devastated at the loss of "a gentleman" who was "always smiling".

Another colleague, who said they worked with the victim for more than 30 years, added: "Take the words honesty, integrity, sincerity and stamp them. That was Phil.

"RIP wonderful man My heart, my thoughts are with his family.”

Detective Chief Inspector Simon Palmer said his officers were "working hard to establish the circumstances of this tragic incident".

He added that Mr Woodcock's family are being supported by specially trained officers.
