THE father of murdered schoolgirl Katie Edwards has bought the plot next to her grave, saying: “I cannot wait to lay in it.”

Katie, 13, and mum Liz Edwards, 49, were killed in their beds by two 14-year-old lovers.

The boy stabbed and smothered them as his girlfriend looked on before they had sex and watched the Twilight films in Spalding, Lincs.

Katie’s dad, Peter Edwards, 43, turned up to see the girl found guilty by a jury at Nottingham crown court.

Peter, who saw little of Katie after divorcing Liz, has since posted online a picture of the burial plot purchase confirmation.

He wrote: “I cannot wait to lay in it when the time comes.”

The killers, now 15, will be sentenced next month. The boy admitted murder.
