Brit, 66, arrested for sexually assaulting stewardess on Jet2 flight from Leeds – forcing an emergency landing in France

A BRITISH man has been arrested after allegedly sexually assaulting a stewardess during a flight from England to Spain.

The Jet2 plane was forced to make an emergency landing in the French city of Nantes after the “seriously drunk” 66-year-old man groped the flight attendant.

She filed a complaint and the man was arrested after Saturday's incident, said French border forces.

According to prosecutor Renaud Gaudeul, the man has "admitted” to what he had done.

“He was in a seriously drunken state when he was handed over the border police," added Gaudeul.

He is accused of putting his hand under the skirt of the attendant and touching her intimate parts while cabin crew were handing out food and drinks.

The pensioner was travelling from Leeds to Alicante in Spain.

He has now been released under judicial control and must now appear in court for the trial on December 13.

In March, Jet2 passengers erupted in cheers as a woman who shouted in an air steward's face and allegedly slapped passengers was booted off the plane.

The rowdy woman was hauled off the Jet2 flight from Manchester to Turkey and escorted off the plane after the aircraft was diverted to Vienna.

She had caused a commotion thousands of feet in the air shortly after boarding the packed flight on Monday.

Shocking footage shows the blonde, understood to be from the Kirklees area of West Yorkshire, pacing up and down the cabin before shouting at crew members.

Then in May, rowdy Rangers fans were kicked off a plane on their way to Seville for the Europa League final as a flight was forced to divert.

A number of "disruptive" passengers were booted off the plane heading from Manchester to Faro, Portugal - with one even being removed before departure.

Footage on social media shows cops storming the Ryanair flight as it sits on the tarmac after an onboard incident.

A Rangers supporter was then removed from the plane.

After being escorted off the flight, the distraught fan is then spotted pleading with an officer on the ground outside the aircraft.

A further image then appears to show the same fan in handcuffs while standing on the tarmac.

The flight from Manchester to Faro also had to be diverted mid-air.

It landed in Nantes, France at 7.44pm where a further five passengers were removed and led off in handcuffs by police waiting on the ground.
