Mum-of-three ‘stabbed her boyfriend to death hours after texting her family saying she was having a s**t birthday’
Lisa Withers, 49, accused of murdering partner Jason Capper after he started brawling with her son Christopher
A MOTHER of three stabbed her boyfriend to death just an hour after she complained to her family she was having a “s*** birthday”, a court heard today.
Lisa Withers, then 47, texted one of her children saying: '”I'm cancelling my bdays now cos same old s*** every year - it’s pathetic.”
Shortly afterwards a family row broke out which ended in Withers repeatedly knifing 45-year old Jason Capper in the back and neck whilst he scuffled in the street with her son Christopher, 29.
As the victim lay dying in the road Withers was allegedly seen standing over Capper shouting: “I hope you f****** die, you b******.”
An 999 call handler overheard her saying: ''I've stabbed him - let him die'' whilst it was claimed neighbours heard Withers shout: ''You deserved it you b******. It's your own fault you c***.''
Capper was stabbed seven times in the back, neck and shoulder and died in hospital less than an hour later despite attempts to revive him.
When interviewed by police Withers, of Edgeley, Stockport, Greater Manchester, said: ''I just lost it, I didn't know what was going on. I didn't even look at the blade. I just lost the plot.

''I had that much abuse of him myself and seeing him on top of Chris, I must have just got so annoyed and everything he's done to me over the years, has just snapped in my head and I've lost the plot.''
Today Withers marked her 49th birthday in the dock at Manchester Crown Court which heard she and Capper had been in a volatile relationship for over four years with both drinking heavily.
Tragedy struck on October 24 2015 when Withers was due to celebrate her 48th birthday.
She was at home drinking lager with Capper when at 7pm she texted her younger son Brendan, 25, saying: ''Don't tx Jasons phone please cos I'm in bed p***** off, every f****** b'day of mine is s**** so your not the only one thats f***** off. Nyt xxx.''
At 7.38pm she then texted elder son Christopher saying: ''You know what son I always have a s**** birthday. I'm cancelling my bdays now cos same old s**** every year - I'm so sad its pathetic.'
Christopher telephoned his mother after getting his text but went round when she said she had ''had enough and was fed up.'' He arrived at the couple's house to find them arguing outside and a scuffle broke out when he tried to to intervene.
Paul Reid QC prosecuting said: ''Mr Withers ended up on the road with Mr Capper on top of him.
''Mr Withers then described a rapid change in Mr Capper's facial expression as though something had taken his breath as though something had come as a shock.”
Christopher rang 999 when he noticed blood on the victim's shirt and realised he had been knifed. He said: ''My mum's boyfriend has gone for me so I've gone to batter him and he's on top of of me on the road and my mum's stabbed him.''
When paramedics and police arrived later, Withers told them: ''I stabbed him, I'm sorry, he was fighting with my son and I stabbed him.”
Mr Reid told the jury: ''Whatever sympathy you may have for a mother wanting to help and protect her son, she chose to intervene in a scuffle between two unarmed men by using a knife. Her intervention was unnecessary and the force she used was wholly unreasonable.''
A Cerbera black handled knife thought to have been used in the killing was found inside a slow cooker which had been left in Withers' blood stained kitchen sink alongside a blood stained cloth and Christopher's blood spattered shirt.
In interview Withers told police Capper had been violent with her on the day of the stabbing and had grabbed her throat. She claimed she picked up the knife from the road and then ''forgot'' she had the blade in her hand when she tried to get Capper off her son.
She denies murder. The case continues.
