Ukip MEPs reported to police over ‘altercation’ that left Steven Woolfe in hospital
European Parliament President reports incident over 'possible criminal implications'

TWO brawling UKIP MEPs have been reported to the French police following their EU Parliament showdown that left one of them hospitalised.
Brit-hating EU Parliament President Martin Schulz confirmed he had made an official complaint about Steven Woolfe and Mike Hookem “given the seriousness of the reported facts and their possible criminal implications”.
It came as an internal party into the the farcas in Strasbourg earlier this month found that it was “impossible” to determine what happened as there were no eyewitnesses.
Last night Yorkshire MEP Mr Hookem accused President Schulz of “making a defamatory statement” and challenged to step “outside” and repeat the statement “so I can take legal action against you.”
Mr Schulz said he would be be “happy” to see Mr Hookem “in court.”

In an extraordinary spat, Mr Hookem went on: “I’m afraid all I was met with was mealy words from a long-term bully pretending to be the tough guy but refusing to leave his plush, taxpayer-funded feather nest and parliamentary privilege.
“If you have the guts, Mr President, to repeat your false allegations outside of the chamber, then yes, I will see you in court.
“Or you could spare us all the time and money and just apologise for your comments and your kangaroo court.”
Following the 5 October fracas, Mr Woolfe quit running to be UKIP boss and resigned from the party saying it was “ungovernable.”
But in a new twist last night ex-leader Nigel Farage changed his tune to say that there is “no evidence anyone was actually punched”, despite French doctors treating Mr Woolfe for head injuries.
UKIP has now concluded its internal inquiry into the incident and said it was “impossible” to determine what really happened.
But the report found that Mr Hookem “whilst foolish, was not the instigator of this incident.”
It concluded that Mr Woolfe was hospitalised after banging his head, but poured doubt on the claims that he had been “punched”.
Steven Woolfe — now an independent MEP — said he stood by his claim that he had “received a blow” from Mr Hookem during the altercation.
He added last week that the incident led to him being treated by doctors for two seizures, partial paralysis and the loss of feeling in his face and body.
He insisted a blow from Mr Hookem knocked him back into the meeting room where Ukip MEPs were discussing reports that Mr Woolfe was in talks about defecting to the Conservatives.
