Man, 19, stabbed to death after ‘about 60 teenagers in mass argument on London street’
Teenager died in hospital this morning
ABOUT 60 young people were screaming and arguing in an east London street in the minutes before a 19-year-old man was stabbed to death, witnesses have said.
Cops have launched a murder investigation after the man was found with a stomach wound in Goodmayes Road, close to Goodmayes station, at 12.40am today.
The teenager was taken to hospital by ambulance, where he later died.
A 32-year-old witness told the there was an “unusual” gathering of teenagers in Goodmayes Road at about midnight.
He said: “People kept coming. I heard men arguing and it kept getting louder, then there was a girl screaming.
“I think it was something over a girl.”
Another witnesses saw the man being carried out of a shisha bar on a stretcher as he was rushed to hospital.
She told the Recorder: “When I looked outside, there were loads of police cars and an ambulance and they were carrying a young boy out on a stretcher.
“He had an oxygen mask on and a white sheet up to his neck. It looked bad.”
Police have said a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.
They believe they know the identity of the victim and his next of kin have been informed.
No arrests have been made.
