Collapse of gov.uk website prompts fears that Britain is under CYBER-ATTACK

The government's main website collapsed today, prompting fears that our enemies had launched a cyber-blitz against Britain.

Westminster's gov.uk page went down for the second time in a week this afternoon.

This website is the main "portal" for all government services, offering access to every department and helping people do everything from claiming benefits to registering a death.

But at about 3pm today, the gov.uk Twitter account announced the site was "intermittently unavailable for some users."

It added: "We hope to be fully back online soon."

People then took to Twitter to speculate that Russia had launched a cyber-attack against Britain.

But the website was back up an hour later and civil servants reassured the nation that we had NOT been clobbered by Putin's cyber-Spetsnaz.

Westminster shared news of the outage using its gov.uk page
