FLEETWOOD MAC vocalist and keyboardist, Christine McVie, left a large mark in rock history.

On November 30, 2022, it was announced that the 79-year-old had passed away following a short illness.

Who was Christine McVie?

Christine McVie was born in Lancashire, England, on July 12, 1943.

She was an English musician who sang vocals and played the keyboard for the British-American rock band, Fleetwood Mac.

The group was founded in London in 1967, and sold more than 100 million records worldwide, making them one of the most successful groups ever.

McVie joined the band in 1970 but also released three solo albums during her musical career, her most popular album being the one named after her in 1984.

The 79-year-old has received several accolades, including being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1999 and two GRAMMY Awards.

McVie took a 15-year hiatus in 1999, but returned to the stage with her group in 2013 and even joined them on tour the following year. The band's best-known songs include Dreams, Go Your Own Way, and Everywhere.

What was Christine's cause of death?

The star who wrote hits including Little Lies, Everywhere and Don't Stop, passed away following a short illness, her family on November 30.

"It is with a heavy heart we are informing you of Christine's death," the family's statement wrote.

"We would like everyone to keep Christine in their hearts and remember the life of an incredible human being, and revered musician who was loved universally."

It was revealed on April 3, 2023, that McVie ultimately died of an “ischemic stroke," according to a report  citing her death certificate.

Was Christine McVie married?

McVie was once married to Fleetwood Mac's bass guitarist, John McVie.

The pair tied the knot in 1968 but divorced in 1976. The band remained together even after the drama.

From 1979 to 1982, she was reportedly engaged to Dennis Wilson of The Beach Boys.

However, in 1986, McVie married the now-late keyboardist Eddy Quintela before the pair divorced in 2003.

Did Christine McVie have children?

McVie did not have any children, and 10 years later, in an interview with , she told the outlet:

"There were never any children [for me]. There was always a career in the way. It was a case of one or the other, and Stevie [Nicks] would say the same," the singer said.

"The lads went off and had children but for Stevie and I it was a bit difficult to do that. So that was never able to happen. And I never found the right man. Not through want of trying."
