PornHub offers to buy Vine video platform from Twitter to let people post X-rated clips

The adult site wanted to restore Vine to its "NSFW glory"

THE PORN megasite has offered to buy the microvideo app from Twitter, saying "six seconds is more than enough".

In a letter to Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey from Pornhub VP Corey Prince, the porn giant said it would help "restore Vine to its NSFW glory".

"We figure since Twitter has dropped (Vine) and is having significant layoffs, that you and your stakeholders could benefit from a cash infusion from the sale of Vine." The porn baron's letter said.

"Not to mention we would be saving Vine gems like 'Damn Daniel,' 'Awkward Puppets' and many more."

The porn site added that if it were to acquire Vine it believed showing clips "of porn in six seconds is more than enough time for most people to enjoy themselves".

The letter came to light after it was shared with , which shows the offer may not be the most serious of offers, and may instead be a bit tongue in cheek.

Vine closed this week after four years, with Twitter reportedly laying off one in 10 of its staff.

On Medium, Vine wrote: "Since 2013, millions of people have turned to Vine to laugh at loops and see creativity unfold. Today, we are sharing the news that in the coming months we’ll be discontinuing the mobile app."
