Are UK schools open today?

Forecasters have said the country will be hit with snow, fog and ice in a -10C freeze on Monday, December 12, 2022, and have urged motorists to take caution.

Parents will need to check whether their child's school is open before setting off on the school run.

Snow overnight has had an impact on travel across the country, with many schools closing their doors to pupils, or opting for a later start.

One reason for closing is due to the school's heating needing to reach a minimum of 18C.
