Mum jailed for two years after stabbing man in the leg with kitchen knife at her own house party for ‘being cheeky’
She had already hit him with a hammer before plunging the weapon into his leg - causing him to lose consciousness from the blood loss
A WOMAN has been jailed after almost killing a guest at her own house party by slicing an artery in his leg - because he was "being cheeky".
Angela Stead, 49, plunged the 20cm kitchen knife into the 21-year-old victim's leg, causing blood to squirt everywhere.
A court heard Stead how thought the victim was being cocky and initially hit him with a hammer after he lobbed a fork at his ex-girlfriend.
But mum-of-two Stead said the man didn't stop with his swagger at the house party - so she swung a knife at his chest area which he blocked.
And despite kids being in the house, Stead dug the blade into the victim's thigh and said: "That's what you get for being cheeky."
Prosecutor Michael Smith, at Leeds Crown Court, said the victim had been drinking with friends in the White Hart pub in the Beeston area of Leeds, West Yorks., before going back to a party at Stead's home to continue drinking.
Mr Smith said the victim, by his own admission, had been "mouthy and cocky" at the party and flicked a fork at his ex-girlfriend who was also in the house.
The prosecutor added Stead told the victim he "should not be behaving like that" in her home.

Describing the incident, Mr Smith said: "It seems that it did not affect him because he was still being 'cocky'.
"The defendant picked up the knife and slashed towards his chest area and he suffered a cut to his finger as he blocked the weapon.
"She then plunged the knife into his leg and told him 'that's what you get for being cheeky'."
Mr Smith said: "He remembers a lot of blood and he stumbled out of the house and others trying to help him."
The man went into shock and lost consciousness as blood began squirting out of the top of his leg.
The injury was so severe he spent two weeks in hospital and had to undergo a blood transfusion - which will also require further skin grafts.
Stead, of Leeds, West Yorks., pleaded guilty to unlawful wounding and was jailed for two years.
Stephen Welford, mitigating, said Stead struggled to remember the incident because of the amount she had to drink.
