Six-year-old boy dies in hospital days after falling into frozen Solihull lake in tragedy that claimed lives of 3 pals
A SIX-year-old boy has died in hospital just days after falling into a frozen lake in Solihull.
The youngster was fighting for his life after the tragedy at Babbs Mill Park, West Midlands.
He is the fourth victim to have sadly passed away.
Three boys - aged eight, 10, and 11 - lost their lives after falling through ice and getting into trouble in the freezing water on Sunday.
West Midlands Police confirmed the death tonight.
They said in a statement: "It is with heartfelt sadness that we have to report this afternoon, the six-year-old in hospital has lost his fight for life.

"Our deepest sympathies are with the families and friends of those involved in this tragedy.
"We cannot comprehend the enormity of the pain they must feel and our hearts go out to them.
"Specialist officers remain in contact with the family and we will issue further information as soon as we can.
"The searches have been completed and the scene of the incident at the lake will be lifted this evening."

One of the victims has been named as Jack Johnson, 10, - who is said to have bravely ran and tried to save the group.
A schoolgirl has also opened up about her heroic efforts.
Oliwia Szewc, 13, used tree branches in a desperate rescue attempt.
The teen said when she couldn't pass the boys the branches, because they were too short, she knew she had to wait for emergency services.
But, a man, who she believed was related to one of the boys, sprinted past her and leapt into the water.
Oliwia bravely told : "He jumped into the frozen lake and cut up his legs but couldn't really do anything because he was putting his own life at risk.
"He didn't go any farther because the police held him back."
The teen had been meeting a friend at the Solihull park when the horror unfolded.
She recalled: "I was just trying to find branches of trees and try to pass to them but they were all too short
"I was just trying my best to think of different ways to at least help them or do anything for them to float on the surface of the water so they wouldn't drown.
"I was thinking, what would be able to pull them back to the shore? And then I just looked at a tree and I was like, that's it.
";I should just get a branch I try. I got the branch, but it was too short."
A vigil was held on Monday evening for the "little kings who lost their lives".
Dozens could be seen gathered with candles in hand as flowers surrounded their feet.
