Prince Harry ‘pulled out of secret trip to visit new flame Meghan Markle in Canada after news of their relationship broke’
PRINCE Harry cancelled a secret trip he organised to visit his “girlfriend” Meghan Markle in Canada after news of their relationship was revealed, it has been reported.
A source has said the 32-year-old was allegedly booked on a 11.30am British Airways flight from Heathrow to Toronto yesterday when the media broke the news about his love life.
The source told : “The flight was booked last week but he was a no-show.
“The crew for the British Airways flight know the Prince was booked to travel with them.
“It appears he pulled out at the last minute and decided not to travel.”
The prince has also reportedly followed Meghan on Instagram via a secret account and she follows him back.
The Royal is said to be “besotted” with the brunette beauty who is best known for her role as Rachel Zane in legal drama Suits.
Prince Harry has a private account and only ‘follows’ a few close friends and charities which now includes Megan, .
In a recent picture she posted on the social media site of a trip to Soho Farmhouse in Oxfordshire, Meghan is wearing a blue beaded bracelet – very similar to one often sported by the Prince.
It’s thought he picked it up on one of his visits to Africa, as he regularly wears bracelets associated with charities he supports.
The snap has added fuel to the fire that he may have given the trinket to the 35-year-old actress.
Who is Meghan Markle? Everything you need to know
A source close to Harry, 32, told the : “He’s happier than he’s been for many years.
“He’s in a very relaxed period of his life and Meghan has come along at the right time.”
Desperate to keep their romance under the radar, the stunning actress reportedly has made several low-key visits to London, including one where she is thought to have stayed at Kensington Palace – meeting with Harry’s pals and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
In late June and early July she was seen enjoying the tennis from the royal box at Wimbledon.
The insider said: “William and Kate really liked her and she fitted in straight away.
“They are taking each week as it comes and just enjoying each other’s company but it’s fair to say that they love seeing each other and there’s a definite chemistry between them.”
Kensington Palace would not comment on the rumoured romance as it’s a “private matter”
Meghan, 35, is believed to have crossed paths with Harry in May, while the royal was in Toronto to promote his Invictus Games for disabled servicemen.
Born in Los Angeles, Meghan now lives in Toronto where Suits is filmed.
The insider added: “Harry has been desperate to keep the relationship quiet because he doesn’t want to scare Meghan off.
“He knows things will change when their romance is public knowledge but he also knows he can’t keep it a secret for long.”
The pair both share a passion for humanitarian work, with Meghan working for several organisations including World Vision Canada and the United Nations.
She also has visited Afghanistan to support US forces and their families.
Meghan married film producer Trevor Engelson in 2011, but the pair split in 2013.
The US actress isn’t the first star to have been linked to the Prince in recent years.
Last year claims of a fledgling romance between Harry and Ellie Goulding emerged after it was reported the pair were seen getting very close at the Audi Polo challenge in Coworth Park, Berkshire, in July 2015.
It was also believed that Brit actress Jenna Coleman 30, caught the eye of the royal during a polo match at Ascot, where the pair were spotted getting cosy, chatting the night away on a sofa.
And back in June the cheeky prince, who split from long-term girlfriend Cressida Bonas earlier this year, revealed his secret desire to take part on TV dating show Take Me Out to help him find the one.
When The Sun contacted representatives of the actress Kruger Cowne, we were told the romance was still “unofficial”.
