Four injured after suspected gas blast rips through home on residential street as houses evacuated
FOUR people have been injured, one seriously hurt, in a suspected gas explosion that ripped through a home on a residential street.
Cops have evacuated ten and cut off the gas supply to 35 homes surrounding the property in Evesham, West Mids, following the blast.
They have also warned people to stay away from the scene while they deal with the incident.
Shocking pictures reveal the aftermath of the suspected explosion, with the roof blown off and walls crumble.
Emergency services were called to Hemmingway shortly after 5pm on Tuesday.
A 31-year-old man was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham and remains in a critical condition, according to police.

Meanwhile two other adults were taken to Hereford County Hospital, but their injuries were not life threatening and they were released from hospital.
A fourth person was treated at the scene.
It has not been confirmed whether anyone was in the house at the time of the incident.
The road has been cordoned off by police.

Superintendent Nigel Webster, of West Mercia Police, said: "This was, of course, a devastating incident and our thoughts are with those injured, their families and the local residents.
"The community pulled together last night to support each other and we’d particularly like to thank the local public house, which kindly gave shelter to those that had been displaced from their homes last night.
"At the moment we remain at the property with a scene guard in place and to begin an initial investigation with Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service."
Assistant Chief Fire Officer Adrian Elliott said: "This was a significant incident to which we immediately deployed six crews, and we’re grateful for the support we have received from the local community and our emergency service colleagues.
"Our thoughts are with the people injured and their families, and with all those local residents who have been affected.
"Fire investigation officers remain on site to assist with the incident and to support the police and other emergency services in investigating the cause of the explosion."
A West Midlands Ambulance spokesperson said: "Three people from the property were treated at the scene. One man had suffered serious injuries.
"He was assessed by the air ambulance doctor and critical care paramedic before being taken on blue lights to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham. The medics travelled with the crew.

"A man and a woman had suffered less serious injuries and after treatment at the scene were taken to Hereford County Hospital.
"A further man from a neighbouring property was also taken to Hereford County Hospital as a precaution after being injured when the explosion caused damage to that property as well."
