Hungry thief steals a Kit-Kat out of university student’s car… and leaves grovelling apology behind

The chocoholic told his victim he was had spotted the treat in the unlocked car - and just couldn't help himself

A CHOCOHOLIC has left an apologetic note after stealing a Kit-Kat from an unlocked car.

The desperate dairy milk lover spotted the chocolate-covered wafer biscuit treat in the car of a uni student and, unable to help himself, quickly opened the unlocked car door and grabbed it.

But the thief, clearly guilty-ridden, decided to leave a grovelling note behind.

The hilarious note reads: "Saw Kit-Kat in your cut holder. I love Kit-Kats so I checked your door and it was unlocked.

"Did not take anything other than the Kit-Kat. I am sorry and hungry."

The note was shared online by victim Kansas State University student Hunter, who said he had left his car for 15 minutes when the sweet crime took place.

The tweet has since gone viral, with an outpouring of support for both Hunter and the hungry criminal.

One Twitter user joked: "I can see myself doing this :/ I'm both proud and ashamed"

Another wrote: "I've never related to anything more".

Hunter has since been tweeted by Kit Kat itself, with the Twitter account writing: "Who steals someones Kit Kat?! WHO DOES THAT?! Shoot us a DM and we'll replace it for you"
