MI5 chief makes desperate plea urging nerds to help join the fight against ISIS
Spy boss said brainy play 'crucial part' in smashing terror plots and warned terror threat would last 'at least' a generation
THE head of MI5 called on real-life Qs to join the fight on ISIS yesterday — as he warned it is here to stay.
Spy chief Andrew Parker said scientists, maths whizzes and computer nerds played a “crucial part” in smashing 12 terror plots in the past three years.
In a speech to the Royal Society, Mr Parker warned the ISIS threat would last “at least” a generation.
He said: “MI5 has a vital dependence on the best and brightest minds to help us stop these threats. Scientists, technologists, engineers and mathematicians play a crucial part.
“I pay tribute to them and I call upon others to consider a career in British intelligence.”
