A MAN has died after he was stabbed in the chest in broad daylight on a town street.

The horrific incident involving a man in his 30s took place in Great Water Street, Longford, Ireland,  shortly before midday.

The victim was rushed to hospital with stab wounds but passed away this afternoon, a Garda spokesman said.

Gardai have appealed for information on the incident which is described as a “serious assault” and will be examining CCTV footage.
