Gran, 50, charged with murder of boy, five, stabbed to death while parents were at work
A GRAN has been charged with murder after her five-year-old grandson died while in her care.
David-Mario Lazar was found stabbed to death by police at a home in Coventry last January.
His grandmother Elena Anghel, 50, has now been charged with murder.
Police confirmed she appeared at Leamington Justice Centre today ahead of a planned trial in June.
Anghel remains in a secure mental health facility.
David-Mario was being looked after by Anghel while his parents Cristina and Dorinel were at work.

They previously paid tribute to the youngster following the horror on January 25.
A statement said: "Our son, he was the most beautiful child in the world.
"He was a very happy boy. He was always smiling from when he woke up to when he went to sleep.
"He had so much energy. He loved to dance and sing. He is all of our hearts, all our love and is everything to both of us."
