Silk knickers worn by Adolf Hitler’s lover Eva Braun are up for auction for £450
SILK knickers that once belonged to Adolf Hitler’s mistress Eva Braun are expected to sell at auction for £450.
The frilly lilac pants – monogrammed with Braun’s initials – were uncovered by an American serviceman 71 years after her death in an abandoned bunker next to Hitler’s former home in the Bavarian Alps.
After the soldier took the knickers back with him to the US following World War II, they changed hands two times before eventually being bought by a British collector.
Speaking on the upcoming sale, auctioneer Sophie Jones said: “All of these items belong to a British collector who has had them for many years.
“The undergarments have signs of use but there are no holes and are very clean."
According to Jones, the pants are in good, clean condition despite signs of wear and tear.
She said: “There is a market for this sort of thing and it will be very interesting to see who they end up selling to.”
The 1940s pants are expected to fetch a whopping £450 at an auction in Malvern, Worcestershire, on Thursday this week.

The same collector is also selling a red lipstick that once belonged to the mistress, again monogrammed with Braun’s initials “EB”.
The lipstick sits in a silver rectangular case decorated with flowers and leaves.
It boasts a small mirror on the inside of the lid, and has sat untouched since Braun’s death.
A gold cluster ring that belonged to Braun – also nabbed by the US soldier – is being sold in the auction as well.
The dainty piece of jewellery is set with an opal surrounded by six rubies, and is valued at £300.
The ring and underwear were reportedly taken shortly after Braun and Hitler committed suicide after marrying in the Nazi leader’s bunker as the war came to an end.
The pair met in 1929 when she was 17 and he was 40.
