Desperate search for couple who vanished with newborn baby after car broke down on motorway
POLICE are desperately searching for a couple who vanished with their newborn baby after their car broke down.
Constance Marten and Mark Gordon had left the car on the M61 at around 6.30pm yesterday near Farnworth in Bolton.
Police said they then safely walked to the Anchor Lane bridge but have not been seen since.
They believe Constance very recently gave birth and neither she or the tot have been assessed by medical professionals.
She is wearing a burgundy coat and has a southern accent.
Mark was wearing dark clothing at the time of the disappearance, while the newborn was swaddled.

Greater Manchester Police are now appealing for anyone who sees the couple to call 999 immediately.
GMP Head of Public Protection Chief Superintendent Michaela Kerr said: “As a mum, I would like to make a direct appeal to Constance.
"Constance, I know this is an exceptionally hard time for you and you are likely feeling scared but I promise that our number one priority is the same as yours – to keep your beautiful newborn safe.
"As you know, it’s really important that both you and your baby are assessed by medical professionals as soon as possible so please make contact with emergency services or make your way to your nearest hospital, wherever that may be."
