FEARS FOR ARISTOCRAT

Constance Marten and her newborn baby ‘need urgent medical help’ & may be living off her trust fund with rapist partner

A MUM who vanished just days after giving birth may need urgent medical help, police fear.

Constance Marten, her newborn and rapist partner Mark Gordon have been missing for two weeks since their car caught fire on a motorway in Bolton on January 5.

Cops believe aristocrat Constance may have only had the baby a day or two earlier and neither has been assessed by doctors.

They are desperately trying to trace the trio, who are likely living off-grid, as concerns grow for their welfare.

The Met's Detective Superintendent Lewis Basford, who is leading the investigation, said: "It has now almost been two weeks since Mark and Constance’s car broke down on the M61 near Bolton and they have been on the move all that time with a newborn baby.

"As far as we are aware, neither Constance nor the baby have received medical attention since it was born.

"Our priority is to ensure the baby, and indeed both Constance and Mark, are safe and well."

He pleaded directly with the couple to "do the right thing" for the infant and to come forward.

He also urged anyone with information to contact the force as soon as possible.

Officers were called to a vehicle blaze on the hard shoulder of the M61 near junction four at about 6.30pm on January 5.

The occupants were not at the scene and it later transpired Constance and Gordon, who only bought the vehicle six days earlier, had left the area on foot carrying the baby in their arms.

A nationwide hunt was launched but, despite several sightings, all three remain missing.

Police understand the family travelled to Liverpool and then to Harwich and Colchester, both in Essex.

The last reported sighting was near East Ham station in East London on January 7.

All transport and accommodation has been paid for in cash, sparking fears the couple are living off Constance's multimillion pound trust fund and may be able to evade detection for long periods.

The 35-year-old comes from a long line of wealthy landowners with ties to the Royal Family.

Her dad Napier Marten is a former page to the late Queen while her grandmother Mary Anna Marten OBE was a playmate to Princess Margaret.

Her godmother was also the late Queen Mother.

'DO THE RIGHT THING'

Constance grew up in a £34million mansion in the Dorset countryside and is understood to have access to substantial savings, despite being estranged from her relatives, reports.

Gordon, 48, is a convicted sex offender who spent 20 years behind bars in the US.

He was locked up for rape and battery over an attack on a woman in her 20s when he was 14.

Gordon is believed to have met Constance in 2016 after she dropped out of drama school, though it is unclear how.

They are understood to have lived an isolated life together before the missing persons investigation was launched earlier this month.

DS Basford added: "This is a complex investigation with officers from across the Met continuing to work around the clock to find Constance, Mark and their baby.

"There is nothing to suggest that any of them have come to any sort of intentional harm – we just need to ensure they are okay, especially the baby, and do not require any medical assistance for any underlying issues.

"The last confirmed sighting of them was more than a week ago in East Ham – they could now be anywhere in the UK, which is why it is vital that members of the public continue to contact us with any suspected sightings.

"The assistance you’ve provided so far has been invaluable.

"Please don’t forget about Constance, Mark and the baby – if you see them or think you have seen them then please contact us as a matter of urgency."

We are deeply concerned for your and your baby's welfare.

Constance, who is known by nickname Toots, is not believed to have had any contact with her family since she disappeared.

But today, her dad begged her to get to safety in an emotional appeal.
