STARS from the TV hit SAS: Who Dares Wins have paid tribute to British fallen heroes in an emotional video campaign.
Leading the tributes, former SBS operatives Jason 'Foxy' Fox, 40, and Matthew 'Ollie' Ollerton, 45, from the gruelling Channel 4 show, appeared in a video for the #IRemember campaign run by Forces TV.
Jason honoured his friend and colleague Sergeant Lee 'Andy' Houltram, who was killed during a Special Forces operation to destroy a bomb factory in Helmand province, Afghanistan, in 2009.
"He was a very good friend of mine," Jason said. "He was in a different squadron to me – we were supposed to be taking over from them in Afghanistan, which we did.
"Unfortunately, two days before we came into the country Andy was killed in an IED strike and I never actually got to see him again."
While Ollie, who joined the Royal Marines in 1990, aged 18, paid tribute to his grandfather, who was a Captain in the Royal Engineers. "He was an influence for me growing up, and he died when I was very young. He’s the reason I joined the military."
Efrem Brynin, from Sussex, also appeared on the gruelling reality show in memory of his son, Lance Corporal James Brynin - he was killed in a friendly-fire incident while fighting the Taliban in 2013.
The 44-year-old dad was the oldest contestant to take on the arduous TV challenge last month, set in the Ecuadorean jungle, where SAS men put recruits through their paces in a challenge based on the tests they completed to join the regiment.
Efrem stunned the show's presenters when he revealed that the SAS selection-style tasks had helped him understand some of what his son experienced as a soldier.
Speaking in his #IRemember campaign video, the heart-broken father said: "James had many positive attributes but what I really remember about him was his courage, his commitment and his integrity.
"He was posthumously awarded a Mention in Despatches for his bravery on the day, saving the lives of others whilst laying down his own, no better examples of those qualities.
"So today, like every day, I remember my son and my best friend James Brynin."
People are encouraged to take part in the #IRemember campaign in the run-up to Armistice Day by posting brief tributes to loved ones who served Britain using the #IRemember hashtag on social media.
