George Osborne pockets nearly £100k for just THREE speeches after being dumped from Cabinet

GEORGE OSBORNE has trousered nearly £100,000 in for THREE speeches over the past two months.
Parliamentary figures yesterday revealed the ex-Chancellor has been coining it in since being dumped from the Cabinet by new PM Theresa May.
He was paid £98,446 for speeches in September and October – including two to the New York Securities
Industry and Financial Markets Association and one to the Standford University’s Hoover Institution on the west coast.
The speeches lasted four hours and 30 minutes – giving the ex-Chancellor an hourly rate of £21,876.
The details came as it separately emerged Nick Clegg pocketed £15,000 for one appearance on BBC hit show Have I Got News For You in October.
The register of interests also revealed Labour backbencher Jess Philips has pocketed £25,000 for a book advance.
The Sun last month revealed George Osborne had signed up to the world’s most prestigious speaking agency – the Washington Speakers Bureau – charging up to £75,000 a pop.
It joined an elite club of jet setting former world leaders also represented by the firm based in the US capital including three ex-British PM’s Tony Blair, Gordon Brown and Sir John Major.
