A MAN is fighting for his life after being shot in a street in Bolton.
The 28-year-old was gunned down on Manchester Road at around 11.10 last night.
He was rushed to hospital shortly after the shooting, where he remains in a critical condition.
Detectives have set up a cordon and two crime scene tents are in place at the scene.
The busy road is closed between Bolton Road and Church Street, according to the .

Three patrol cars are parked up on the road and a number of officers are at the scene.
Forensic officers do not appear to be in the area.
Detective Superintendent Jon Chadwick, Head of GMP’s Major Incident Team said: “We are very much in the early stages of our investigation and we’re working to establish exactly what has happened to this man.
“He is currently in hospital in a life threatening condition and we are keen to hear from anyone who may have any information about the circumstances leading up to him being found by police.”
It is not known what time the area is expected to reopen.
