But after she passed out, the 27-year-old took her back to his home in Plymouth, Devon, and raped her.

Woldeab has now been jailed for 18 years after he was convicted of two counts of rape and one of kidnap.

Chilling CCTV has now been released showing the predator stalking the victim, who was aged in her 20s.

She had spent the evening with friends in April last year before making her way back home alone.

The woman can be seen stumbling on the pavement before Woldeab drives past in a Ford Fiesta.

After passing her, the fiend performs a U-turn and begins driving down the street in the same direction as her.

He then pulls up alongside and claims to be a taxi driver offering her a lift home.

The victim is seen getting in the passenger side before Woldeab zooms off before she even has a chance to close the door.

Plymouth Crown Court was told she was blacking out due to intoxication on the journey to Woldeab's home.

Once there, the brute put the victim on his bed and raped her before leaving the room.

Seizing her chance, the brave woman managed to flee his home and make it back to hers.

She then text a friend and contacted the police, who arrested Woldeab the next day.

Speaking after today's sentencing, DS Chris Kinski of the Sexual Offences Investigation Team said: "This was a truly horrendous and disturbing crime.

"Woldeab could see that the victim was vulnerable as she was intoxicated. He used this entirely to his advantage when approaching her that night.

"We believe he had been prowling the streets looking for a victim prior to spotting her.

"I have no doubt that what happened that night will stay with the victim forever. I hope this sentencing can provide her with some sense of closure so that she can move on with the same courage and determination that she has shown throughout this process.

"We would urge anyone suffering in silence to come forward. As this case shows, you will be believed and supported and together we will hold offenders to account for their crimes."
