He can be seen in online videos for UK Action for Refugees asking for donations.

The charity has raised £28,579 since August,   and the rest in conjunction with other fund-raising aid organisations.

Former counter-terror cop Chris Phillips said: “Security services would be interested to know how the funds are used.”

The Charity Commission is investigating.

Charity founder Nina Coulson, 48, who has a £1.5million home in Cornwall, said: “I ship medical aid to Syria and Shajul gets it to the hospital.

“I need someone there who speaks English. I’ve seen videos of him saving lives.

“All charges against him were dropped. He is not on any no-fly lists.”
