Royal Family’s ex-butler confirms Prince Harry is besotted with Meghan Markle, and says she could be ‘The One’
THE ROYAL Family’s former butler has confirmed Prince Harry is in love with new flame Meghan Markle.
Grant Harrold also said the Royal Family approves of the union between the Prince and the US actress.
According to Harrold, both the Queen and Prince Charles will be overjoyed by the romance, though he admitted the 35-year-old divorcée would “have to change her behaviour” to fit the Royal Family’s strict rules.
In an interview with the , Harrold, 38, said: “Harry loves her and she loves him.
“And that will be what matters in the eyes of the Queen and Prince Charles.
“I don’t see any reason why Meghan couldn’t be The One."
The former butler, who was one of the first members of the royal household to meet Kate Middleton, said: “The Royal Family are a very modern family.
“Her past will not count against her.”
The lovebirds are said to have spent his 32nd birthday together in Balmoral, Scotland, in September, where Markle had the chance to meet Prince Charles, who was reportedly “charmed” by the star.
Harrold said: “Charles would have made her feel very welcome, like any father, and the Queen is wonderful at making people feel relaxed and comfortable.
“I’ve no doubt she’ll do exactly the same for Meghan.”
According to Harrold, Harry’s late mother Princess Diana would also approve of the couple.
Despite Markle’s normal upbringing and career as a Hollywood actress, Harrold said the Royal Family would not treat her any differently if she and Harry were to marry – but she would have to embrace change.
He explained: “If it does eventually turn into wedding bells she will have to be more careful about what she does, how she behaves, what she wears.”
But, Harrold said, “Giving up your day job for royal duties is very normal. It’s a full-time job and people forget that.”
