But another Sun investigation has revealed he has been flying back to lurk among children again.

Smith, from Blackburn, has changed his name twice by deed poll and got new passports in the names Allan Howson-Burton and Alan Trevor Stewart.

He has landed a string of Thai teaching posts, even posing for a picture holding a schoolgirl in his arms and another grinning among kids at the back of a class.

We tracked down Smith in the UK after he was deported again over visa irregularities.

He said: “My students all loved me very much, in a Thai sense, and asked me to pose for innocent pictures.

"They were just affectionate students.

“I know changing my name looked a bit dodgy but I didn’t want to get arrested again.”

The ex-Butlin’s redcoat was jailed for six months in 2005 and placed on the sex offenders’ register for a sex attack on a girl of 14.

He resurfaced working as a teacher in a Buddhist monastery school in Thailand in 2007.

He was deported after The Sun revealed he used fake references to get a job at a school outside Bangkok.

He said he was legally able to obtain two passports using assumed names by having a solicitor change his name then submitting deed poll forms with his old passport.

The differently numbered passports enabled him to re-enter Thailand. He was arrested for outstaying his visa in December last year before being kicked out in April.

Another Brit teacher working in Thailand raised the alarm. He said: “He’s creepy. All he talked about was the beautiful girls at school.”

Officials at the FACE Foundation, a Thai child protection committee, said last night they had put out alerts in case Smith tries to return.
