A 16-YEAR-OLD boy has been charged with attempting to murder his mother.
The woman in her 40s was stabbed multiple times in her back, neck and shoulder on Friday morning.
Police said the attack happened around breakfast time, and the teen was arrested in Woking.
The woman, in her 40s, managed to raise the alarm after the alleged attack.
An air ambulance, paramedics and police scrambled to the house in a leafy part of Surrey.
The woman was rushed to St George's Hospital in Tooting, south London, where it was said surgeons had been put on standby her her arrival.
She is still in hospital in a serious but stable condition.

A spokesman for Surrey Police confirmed a 16-year-old boy from Wallington, Sutton, has been charged after an attack on a woman.
He appeared at Redhill Magistrates Court on Saturday and has been remanded in custody to appear at Guildford Youth Court on November 9.
South East Coast Ambulance Service sent two rapid response cars, an ambulance, and the air ambulance to the scene.
