A MUSICIAN devastated by the theft of his limited edition guitar has had it replaced free of charge - by the Foo Fighters rock star who designed it.

Sinclair Belle, 31, lost his Fender Telecaster Deluxe - worth £800 - when it was stolen from his car in September.

His story spread around the world and came to the attention of Chris Shiflett, the guitarist with the American rockers.

Chris saw the story on a Foo Fighters' official UK fan group and messaged Sinclair on Facebook offering to send him a replacement.

Sinclair, who plays with band Happy Daggers in Leeds, West Yorks, said: "I was winding down from the week when a message come through the band's Facebook page.

"It was a message from Chris Shiflett. He said he had seen the article and to let him know if I wanted another one sending. Initially I thought it was a hoax."

Chris, 45, wrote in his message: "Hey Sinclair. I read about your guitar getting stolen. Bummer! I'd be happy to send you another."

In another the star added: "Nothing worse than getting your guitar ripped off";.

Delighted Sinclair accepted the offer and a few weeks later returned from holiday to find a brand new guitar waiting for him.

He said: "It was exactly the same guitar, but in gold as they didn't have any of the white ones.

"I played it straight away and we had a rehearsal the following weekend. The rest of the band were quite astounded."

Sinclair wrote to Chris to thank him for the gift and the guitarist replied: "I hope it serves you well my friend."
