COPS have launched a murder probe after a woman burnt to death in a house fire.
Emergency services rushed to the scene of the horror blaze in Stoke-on-Trent at about 3pm on Thursday.
A woman in her 40s was pronounced dead by paramedics.
Police say a murder investigation has been launched in what they have called a "complex investigation".
Officers are continuing to examine the scene in Campbell Road with firefighters.
According to cops, this will likely "take several days" as they probe the circumstances of the fire.

The woman's family are being supported by family liaison officers.
Detective Superintendent Nicki Addison of Staffordshire Police said: “This is a tragic case and we are working hard to understand more about what happened yesterday afternoon and who was responsible.
"We are keeping an open mind and would ask people not to speculate on the circumstances at this stage as it is distressing for family and friends, and could hinder our enquiries.
"This is a complex investigation and we continue to work closely with fire and rescue colleagues.
