HORRIFIC footage shows a terrified schoolgirl after she was impaled by a JAVELIN at a school sports day.

The girl was struck in the chest at a stadium in the city of Chacay in Peru as her mortified parents watched on.

The girl, who has not been named, was rushed to hospital and her parents have reportedly been treated for shock.

It is not clear if someone threw the spear or if the girl fell onto it.

They can be seen moving the red projectile up and down as the crowd around her increases in size.

However she still had the javelin in her chest when she was treated in hospital, according to reports.

The latest reports from local media suggest she has still not been operated on by medics as they are assessing the damage.
