'Witch priest' flees after performing sickening sacrifice as alleged kidnappers are arrested
A FOUR-year-old girl was decapitated as part of a sickening 'black magic' ritual to find a teenager's lost MOBILE PHONE.
The child's body was found also missing her arms in a forest near her home in Charaideo, India.
It is thought the girl was kidnapped by the family -- who are believed to be known to the tot's parents -- before being taken to the priest for sacrifice.
The priest is believed to have fled the tribal community known as Adivasis, which both families were also a part of.
A local police inspector told the newspaper that many in the rural area are uneducated and have deeply held superstitions.
It is the latest in a series of human sacrifices to be reported in India.
Last June a 55-year-old man was beheaded in Jharkhand in what police said was an spell to bring a better harvest.
A week previous a 5-year-old was beheaded on the Rangapara Tea Estate -- leading to the mob lynching of a man mistakenly thought to be a witch priest.
