Prince Andrew’s accuser Virginia Giuffre’s lawyer says there is ‘strong evidence’ for his guilt
THE lawyer for Prince Andrew’s sex abuse accuser Virginia Giuffre says there is “strong evidence” for his guilt.
David Boies, who represents Ms Giuffre, said he doubted the Duke of York would have taken the risk of going to trial — and would have done anything to avoid having to make a legal deposition.
He told TalkTV’s Piers Morgan Uncensored the controversial photograph of the prince with Virginia “made it clear that he could not say he never met her” and he believed it would be disastrous for Andrew to appear for a deposition and take a “terrible criminal risk” if he chose to lie.
Mr Boies said: “If you lie to an interviewer you may embarrass yourself — if you lie in a deposition you can go to jail.”

The interview comes as Andrew has reportedly assembled an £8million war chest to try to overturn the settlement he paid to Ms Giuffre last year to resolve a civil sex case she brought against him.

The settlement, which was for a reported £10million, came after she accused Andrew of battery and infliction of emotional distress for having sex with her when she was 17.
The lawsuit claimed Roberts was trafficked to Andrew by paedophile pal Jeffrey Epstein, and that they had sex three times.
The Duke of York has always denied the claims.
In the exclusive interview on TalkTV, Mr Boies said: “This was a case where I think the evidence was too strong.

"You have her testimony and you have his complete denial. The question is, is he credible or not?
“Once the jury concludes that he’s not credible with his claims that he never met her, I think the jury would probably conclude that he’s not credible about claiming he didn’t have sex with her.
“He would have been taking a terrible criminal risk.”
