Good Morning Britain viewers left shocked as pundit says Clinton voters will ‘need a spliff’ as election results roll in
California had voted to legalise the recreational use of marijuana

GOOD Morning Britain viewers were left stunned after a correspondent said Hillary Clinton voters in California might need "a spliff or two" to get over the election result.
As well as voting for a new president the west coast state voted to legalise the recreational use of marijuana, along with Nevada and Massachusetts, last night.
Speaking from Washington Good Morning Britain correspondent Ranvir Singh told presenters Susanna Reid and Piers Morgan: "In California they have voted to legalise the recreational use of marijuana.
"It's a state that voted for Hillary so I might suggest they probably need a spliff or two to get over this if Trump does get in."
Viewers were quick to express their shock on social media with many questioning if they heard the journalist correctly.

In the studio Piers and Susanna seemed to take a moment to register what they'd just heard before continuing the programme without mentioning Ranvir's suggestion.
On Twitter the suggestion divided opinion with some shocked and others amused.
Viewers had already suggested that Susanna Reid was so incensed by Piers Morgan’s behaviour of this morning’s show that she wanted “to punch him in the face”.
The pair were hosting the ITV breakfast show live from Times Square in New York as Donald Trump was elected the 45th President of the United States.
