The KKK thanks Wikileaks and Julian Assange for propelling Donald Trump to victory
Far-right leaders from around the world have congratulated America's new president saying 'our world is being built'
THE Ku Klux Klan’s former leader David Duke called Trump’s victory a “great victory for our people” as right wing leaders around the world celebrated the incredible election result.
Insisting his supporters played a vital role in propelling Trump into the White House, the racist white nationalist said the tycoon’s win was “one of the most exciting nights of my life”.
Duke – who failed to win a Senate seat himself in Louisiana –declared: “Donald J Trump now has the chance to become one of the greatest Americans to have ever lived. We have the moral high ground.
“Make no mistake about it. Donald J Trump owes his victory to The South.
“This is one of the most exciting nights of my life. Make no mistake about it, our people have played a huge role in electing Trump.”
Duke also demanded Hillary Clinton be “locked up” and also praised Wikileaks founder Julian Assange - for their dumps of hacked emails - saying America owed its “freedom” to him.
The Holocaust denier told his Twitter followers: “God bless Wikileaks – Julian Assange is a hero.
“America owes this man one thing – Freedom!
“Thank you, sir – Thank you! #wikileaks."
His thanks came after Wikileaks leaked thousands of documents including emails belonging to Hillary Clinton's campaign team in the run up to polling day.
They included Clinton vowing to "ring" China with missiles over the North Korea threat and some which revealed her closest aide had serious fears about her health.
Wikileaks also revealed that in a withering put-down Bill Clinton compared Jeremy Corbyn to a tramp.
